BREAST AUGMENTATION BASICS...
For a woman, breast size can be an integral part of self-confidence. Adequate breast size can make a woman feel proportionate and feminine. Breast augmentation can change the way a woman feels about herself, and can change her life.
If you’re considering breast augmentation, the first step is a consultation with Dr. Moskovitz. Together, you’ll discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure. Expectations need to be realistic. After all, breast augmentation won’t make you a different person, just a more confident one!
At your complimentary consultation, Dr. Moskovitz will explain which options would work best for you -
Implant type. You’ll choose between saline implants or silicone implants. Both types have pluses and minuses. Most people feel that silicone implants have a more natural feel than saline. However, if a saline implant ruptures, your body simply absorbs the salt water. If a silicone implant ruptures, you’ll need to have any silicone that has leaked removed.
Implant position. You’ll decide if you want the implant placed atop the breast muscle or underneath the breast muscle. Many believe that implants placed under the muscle have a more natural look, but this is all personal preference.
Incision location. Implants can be placed through incisions either at the bottom of the breast, around the areola, in the armpit (not silicone), or through the belly button (not silicone). Obviously, incisions in the armpit or belly button leave the least visible scarring.
Implant style. The last of your decisions will be the size and shape of your implants. You will also decide if you want your implants to have texture, which can help to keep them from shifting. Most patients opt for round implants. You’ll also decide on the size and projection of your implants.
While these decisions may seem daunting, Dr. Moskovitz and his team will help you will all of them, allowing you to be excited by the prospect of your new shapelier self. Call us at 201-225-1101 and let’s talk about the possibilities.
